Today’s Untz: Stronger (Miguel Campbell Remix) / Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

A sweet sweet jam has been released upon us just in time for the weekend. Miguel Campbell’s remix of TEED’s track ‘Stronger’ is a fun groover with an addicting bass line. ‘Stronger’ is a great tune on it’s own. The video has been out for some time so it’s nice to hear a fresh take on it.

Miguel has been galvanized by the house music scene since the early 90’s and has also been a DJ since that time. In 2006 he founded his own label: Outcross Records and in 2010 he became the newest addition to Hot Creations. Both the Hot Creation label and Miguel have been on here before. Miguel is also part of MAM which features Matt Hughes.

The remix is due out on June 18th. Also don’t forget about TheUntzAndTheIndie favorite, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, who’s album, ‘Trouble,’ is due out June 12th. #untz / tom

Today’s Untz: With You Feat. Grovesnor / Flight Facilities

Flight Facilities have a brand new single called ‘With You’ featuring the Hot Chip drummer Grovesnor on vocals and it’s superb.

The Syndey duo has been all over the place since 2010’s single ‘Crave You’ which featured vocals from Giselle. They’ve also had tremendous success with fabulously done remixes from some of our favorites: Holy Ghost! and Cut Copy. And who can forget ‘Foreign Language feat. Jess’ in 2011. So needless to say, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this release which you can grab today!

There are a ton of really great supporting remixes too. Danny Daze does his thing per usual, but my favorite is the recently blogged about duo, MAM, which add an extra layer of oozing disco summertime boogie. The original and MAM remix will be on repeat for some time and I’m sure this track will soon be remixed by everyone and their mother because who could possibly  NOT touch this one. #untz/tom

Today’s Indie: Only the Horses / Scissor Sisters

‘and if this is the end / the best place I’ve ever been’

Scissor Sisters have fallen off my radar for a while now, but instantly grabbed my attention with this new single off their upcoming album, Magic Hour. There is a bit of untz in today’s indie because the track is traceably produced by Calvin Harris with some help from Boys Noize’s Alex Ridha. So cheery, so catchy, wild horses couldn’t keep me away. The perfect Monday morning fix. #indie/tory

Today’s Untz: Can’t Live Without Music / MAM

‘they can take my life, but they can’t take my pride/ they say music died, but they lied’

As I’m gearing up for Coachella this week, I think it makes sense that I post a song relevant to not just a festival, but to music in general. Music is art. Music is life. I can’t live without it and wouldn’t want to imagine a world without it.

MAM, which consists of producers Matt Hughes and Miguel Campbell, brings us today’s track appropriately titled, “Can’t Live Without Music.” I instantly am reminded of Daft Punk. The house and funk sounds in this sexy, funky tune remind me specifically of “Something About Us.” I don’t think there is much you can say after that comparison… the ultimate compliment. #untz/tom
